Here are the steps to use the "Soft Edge" effect for a video in PowerPoint, assuming you are using

PowerPoint 2016 or later:

Step 1: Open PowerPoint and create a new slide or open an existing slide where you want to insert your

video.

Step 2: Go to the "Insert" tab in the PowerPoint ribbon at the top of the screen.

Step 3: Click on the "Video" button in the "Media" group, and select "Video on My PC" to insert a video

from your computer. Alternatively, you can choose "Online Video" to insert a video from an online

source such as YouTube or Vimeo.

Step 4: Browse to the location of the video file on your computer and click on the "Insert" button to add

the video to your slide.

Step 5: With the video selected, you should see the "Video Tools" tab appear in the PowerPoint ribbon

at the top of the screen. Click on the "Video Tools" tab to reveal additional options.

Step 6: In the "Video Tools" tab, click on the "Format" tab to access video formatting options.

Step 7: In the "Format" tab, look for the "Video Styles" group. Click on the "Video Effects" button within

this group, and select "Soft Edge" from the drop-down menu.

Step 8: You can adjust the intensity of the soft edge effect by selecting from the predefined options,

such as "10 pt," "20 pt," or "30 pt." Alternatively, you can click on the "More Variations" option to

manually adjust the soft edge effect using a slider.

Step 9: Preview the video with the soft edge effect applied to see if it meets your desired look.

Step 10: Once you are satisfied with the soft edge effect, you can close the "Format" tab, and your video

will now have the soft edge effect applied to it in PowerPoint.

Note: The steps and options may vary slightly depending on the version of PowerPoint you are using,

but the general process should be similar. Make sure to save your PowerPoint presentation after

applying the soft edge effect to your video to ensure the changes are retained.
