1. Insert video or audio file onto the slide by clicking "Insert" tab, then clicking on "Video"
or "Audio" from the Ribbon. Choose the file you want to insert and click "Insert".
2. Once the video or audio is inserted, click on it to highlight it’s "Video Tools" or "Audio
Tools" section on the Ribbon.
3. In the "Playback" group, click on the "Start" drop-down list and choose "Automatically".
This will ensure that the video or audio will start playing as soon as the slide is displayed.
4. In the same "Playback" group, check the "Loop until Stopped" option. This will make
sure that the video or audio will keep playing in a continuous loop until the slide is
exited.
5. Next, click on the "Animations" tab and then click on "Add Animation" from the
"Advanced Animation" group. Choose the "Appear" animation to add it to the video or
audio file.
6. With the video or audio file still selected, go to the "Animations" group and click on the
"Start" drop-down list. Choose "With Previous". This will make sure that the video or
audio file will start playing as soon as the slide appears.
7. Open the "Animation Pane" by clicking on the "Animation Pane" button in the
"Advanced Animation" group.
8. In the "Animation Pane", find the animation for the video or audio file and drag it to the
top of the list. This will ensure that the video or audio file will start playing immediately,
even if there are other animations on the slide.
9. Finally, preview your slide show to make sure that the video or audio is playing
correctly. If it is not, double-check your playback and animation settings to make sure
everything is set up correctly.
It's important to set these playback and animation settings in PowerPoint to ensure that your
video or audio plays smoothly and as intended during your presentation. By making it start
automatically, loop until stopped, and start with previous, you ensure that it plays consistently
every time. Additionally, by moving the video animation to the top of the list in the Animation
Pane, you can make sure that it plays right away, even if there are other animations on the
slide. By making these habits, beginners can minimize problems with video playback and make
their presentations more effective.
